A substorm occurred just before the ESR run at 17 UT on
December 06, 2008, and an initial brightening of the
substorm was overhead/near Svalbard. Geomagnetometer H
component decreased about 700 nT at Longyearbyen around
17:30 UT. Therefore Espen and Assar extended the ESR 
observation as UP experiment (charged by EISCAT HQ).
