(PIs of the SP: K. Hosokawa and S. C. Buchert) Recent studies using SuperDARN radars have shown intriguing relationships between pulsating aurora and changes in E region auroral backscatter. On the one hand, regular pulsations are associated with periodic changes in echo Doppler shift. On the other, irregular pulsations are associated with a new population of low altitude (D-region) backscatter echoes. We aim to investigate these two phenomena with simultaneous observations of the aurora by TV cameras and Reimei satellite, and electron density measurement by EISCAT radar in Tromsoe. Manda or arc_d pulse code will be used for the Tromso VHF radar observation. We prefer good weather condition for the optical observations. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 2010-10-09 (Sat) 2200 UT - 2010-10-10 0200 UT (4 hours) : Reimei overpass at 00:27 UT 2010-10-10 (Sun) 2200 UT - 2010-10-11 0200 UT (4 hours) : Reimei overpass at 00:45 UT 2010-10-13 (Wed) 2200 UT - 2010-10-14 0200 UT (4 hours) 2010-10-14 (Thu) 2200 UT - 2010-10-15 0200 UT (4 hours) 2010-10-15 (Fri) 2200 UT - 2010-10-16 0200 UT (4 hours) : Reimei overpass at 00:39 UT 2010-10-16 (Sat) 2200 UT - 2010-10-17 0200 UT (4 hours) : Reimei overpass at 00:57 UT ----------------------------------------------------------------
